SNOWBOARDING

So I attempted snowboarding. The first hour of my "attempt" consisted wholly of me trying to figure out how to jump back up from the ground without having to remove my feet from the snowboard. Now, when I tell people that I have no arm strength to speak of what-so-ever, I say it with all seriousness and yet, people just don't seem to believe me. At least, not until they've been watching me try to stand up on a snowboard after falling for a half an hour. Despite the snowboard trying to conquer me, I perfected the cheater's way of getting up with pride.

To get the whole gist of "the cheater's way", I'll need to describe it in detail for you to understand why I included the word PRIDE in that last sentence. First you lie completely on your back as if you've finally given out from exhaustion. Then, to the shock of unsuspecting bystanders, you suddenly and very violently swing your legs up and around so that your toes are pointing towards the ground. During this step, in order to not snap your spinal cord, you must simultaneously twist yourself around so that the rest of you is pointing to the ground. Now, in this final step, when you are completely on your stomach and helpless, you use your arms, get up on your knees, lean back onto the board until its flat on the ground, and stand up.

If your imagination is in working order, or you yourself have witnessed this before, then you realize now that this way is not the most graceful or awesome way of getting up. And when you've been snowboarding for awhile, then you may have acquired the strength I lack and thus have no need for the cheater's way. For those of us little people who still use this way when you no longer do, please treat us well. It's not fun to be laughed at by a ten year old when you're almost a decade older than him.

Anyway, other than that, snowboarding is fun. And if anything, it's fun to laugh at yourself and how ridiculous you feel. It's definately a humbling experiance to learn a new skill. And who doesn't need that once in a while?

Fire of Youth

Hope you guys can see this one okay. I wanted to have it centered and smaller when someone sees the blog for the first time. (If that makes sense...) I also decided on a name and I hope people like it.

Embrace of the Cold

A new picture for you all. Hope you like it.

TORACON!!!!!!

EEEEEEEEEE!!!! Okay- for all you newbs out there: Toracon is an anime convention that takes place every year at RIT. And guess who is going for the first time??? And for the first time EVER, I'm going to seriously cosplay. And again, for all you newbs, cosplay is when you make or order the costume of a character you like and dress up as them the whole day.

This is serious business for me. See, I'm a little OCD about stuff and cosplay is one of them. When I pick a character, I carefully compare everything so that I'm a good fit. The only difference between me and the character I've chosen is hair and eye color. If I wanted to spend more money, I would dye my hair and buy some blue contacts.... but I've already spent a lot of money with ordering the costume, soooooo.

Now, you may be asking yourself at this point "who is she going as?" BUT! I'm not going to reveal that yet! I will just say that the dress is really really cute. I'm so excited! Toracon is in March on the 23rd and the 24th. I hope I see some friends there!

CATS! FINALLY CATS!!!

WHAT UP?!  So I've decided that it looks like this blog is actually semi successful and that I'm going to keep it up as long as I can. I have three followers! EEEEE! I know that seems like nothing to all you seasoned veterans of the inter-world, but it means something to me! SO THERE.

So. It has come to my attention that some people have been wondering about my title (they expect the whole website to center around the Queen... I mean, come on. The WORLD already revolves around her.) And that it doesn't seem to fit my page because I don't post many things about my cat. THUS! I shall give you all an OVERLOAD of cats!

As it happens, I live with a family of SIX cats. (And a stray, if you count that one even though he doesn't live here.) And I shall introduce you to them all! You have met one already, of course, but she demands I give her a proper introduction. The other stipulation she gave me was that it should outshine all the others but, I promised her nothing.... okay, I promised her a little.

THIS is Mama. A.K.A. Candy. But I personally don't like that name when it's spelled that way so I just call her Mama. She is the oldest cat on the earth. Her nickname is The Ancient Of Days. She also has a habit of scaring the crap out of me by jumping up into my window when she's outside. She's a cool cat though and likes her belly to be rubbed.

THIS is Sweetie. She normally looks much cuter, but she wasn't doing her normal "look at me, I'm unnaturally cute and pudgy" look. When this little darling was added to the fam, the fam was not aware that she was A SHE. Her name was originally Thunder. Thus I like to call her ThunderSweets. She looks like she's wearing lipstick. MWAH!

This is Sweetie's brother, BIGBOY. Although, lately he's been on Jenny Craig so he doesn't quite fulfill the BIG part. He would not look at the camera!!!!!! AGH! The frustrations of a photographer. Like his sister, Bigboy looks like he has lipstick on, but for his sake, we call it a mustache. The only difference between the two is their sizes and the fact that Bigboy has a white spot between his eyes.

This is Baby Girl. She is literally afraid of everything. She would run from a leaf. But she's so darn cute! I call her carpet cat because her fur reminds me of carpet. Her most favorite thing to do is to cuddle. The problem is, when this cat cuddles, she HAS to be directly on your lap! She can't be next to you or on one leg, no. She MUST be dead center on your lap or she'll leave you.

THIS! THIS is Tipper. His name is actually Tippy(?) but we call him all sorts of mutations of his name. Tipper, Tipper-two, Tips, Weirdo; they all work. I must say something about this cat: HE IS BIG. And not big in a fat way, no no. HE IS ALL MUSCLE! I swear this cat could be a bodybuilder; he is solid! And I think from what I heard about his birth, his mother(which turns out to be Sweetie) knew he'd be a freak of nature. The fam tells me that when he was born, Sweetie tried to eat him. If that's not love, I don't know what is.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE QUEEN!!!!! (I'd include Zoey, the stray, but I can't get a picture of him; it's cold and I don't want to go outside to track him down.) AND SO! WITHOUT FURTHER ADO! THE ONE YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!! Sapphire enjoys long walks with her nails fully extended on people's laps and a nice bowl full of milk. She has no neck to speak of and a shorter than normal tail, but that doesn't stop her from being the prettiest cat in all the land. Her most stunning features are her green eyes that bore into your soul. Don't let this one catch you asleep >nervous laughter<.

And now to make good on my promise: A picture to outshine all the others!

Thankyou for humoring me for this long. I hope for your continued patronage! Now I can get to drawing!!!!

The Driving Test

I am soooooo happy! I was so nervous and excited, but yesterday I finally faced........ THE DRIVING TEST. Okay, so some of you may be thinking "what's the big deal?" and those who know me know that I've been practicing a lot and are thinking "she has nothing to worry about". But let me explain something about myself: I WAS BORN BLONDE. Only later in life did my hair turn the color it is now naturally. So, when the man who would decide my fate settled into the seat next to me and asked for me to leave the curb, imagine my sheer terror when I pressed on the gas and we DIDN'T GO ANYWHERE.

On the outside I appeared cool as a cucumber. On the inside, my brain was crazed and panicking: "WHY AREN'T WE MOVING?!" It was then that I realized I was STILL IN PARK. I thought it was over before it had begun. And as I finally pulled away from the curb, I thought: "I'm doomed."

Yet, despite my epic fail, I PASSED! For all of you now thinking "who would pass this girl?", TALK TO THE LICENSE! YAAAAAAAAAAY!
